I flew into Honolulu on Oahu, the main island of Hawaii.
We stayed at the Waikiki Parc Hotel in the centre of Waikiki. It can be quite noisy at night try so try & request high floor, the cost to stay in a central location is not even thought about once you are in Hawaii enjoying yourself! I would suggest to all travellers to upgrade your room to have either ocean view or ocean front – it will be more expensive but is so worth it when you open your curtains and see the beautiful view of the beach outside.
Shopping is great in Hawaii and the Waikele outlet tour is a must and should be pre-arranged.
The Kahala Hotel & Resort has a 26,000 square foot natural lagoon which is home to a family of playful Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. The Dolphin Quest trainers offer daily education programs where guests can learn about and swim with the dolphins.
Located on the top floor of the Ilikai hotel, is Sarento's- a great Italian restaurant. Every Friday night there is a fireworks display at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (which is directly opposite), so if you make a dinner reservation (well in advance) for a Friday evening you will have an amazing view of the fireworks show.
